The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for white, or women created for men.—Alice Walker
Meet Melinda
I’m a lifelong lover of animals and have been communicating with all sorts of animals since I was a very small child. Our house was always filled with cats and other animals that found their way to our suburban backyard: a rabbit, tortoise, turtles, a neighbor’s pet crow and ducks. I always knew when my cat was hungry, wanted to play or just needed a pet, even if I wasn’t home. Doctor Doolittle was my favorite movie as a child, and it took me by surprise when I discovered that not everyone spoke to and understood their animals.
Over time I came to the understanding that our society was not ready for animal speakers and I limited my conversations to my family’s animals. It wasn’t until I read an article in the Los Angeles Times about lifetime animal communicator Beatrice Lydecker that I realized other interspecies communicators were speaking out about their abilities.
For the past several years I’ve been honing my skills, not only with my companions but with the animals in other people’s lives.
I am honored to have the opportunity to speak with you and your animal companion. |
